However, in fact, the problems caused by the lack of maintenance of batteries account for a high proportion of all UI failures. Therefore, routine maintenance of UI battery will greatly extend the UI battery life and reduce the failure rate. The following will introduce the UI battery maintenance methods: to maintain a suitable ambient temperature, generally speaking, the larger factor affecting the battery life is the ambient temperature. Generally, the best ambient temperature required by battery manufacturers is between 20-25 ℃. Although the increase of temperature can improve the discharge capacity of the battery, the cost is that the battery life is greatly shortened. According to the test, once the ambient temperature exceeds 25 ℃, the battery life will be shortened by half every 10 ℃. At present, the batteries used in UI are generally maintenance free sealed lead-acid batteries, and the design life is generally 5 years, which can be achieved in the environment required by battery manufacturers. If the environmental requirements are not met, there will be great differences in the length of their life. In addition, the increase of ambient temperature will lead to the enhancement of internal chemical activity of the battery, which will generate a lot of heat energy, which in turn will promote the ambient temperature rise. This vicious cycle will accelerate the shortening of battery life. The floating charging voltage and discharge voltage in the UI power supply for periodic charging and discharging have been debugged to the rated value when leaving the factory, and the discharge current increases with the increase of the load. Therefore, the load should be adjusted reasonably in use, such as controlling the number of electronic devices such as microcomputers. In general, the load should not exceed 60% of the rated load of UI. In this range, the battery discharge current will not be excessive discharge. Because UI is connected with the city power for a long time, the battery will be in floating charge state for a long time in the service environment with high power supply quality and few power outage. As a result, the activity of mutual conversion between chemical energy and electric energy will be reduced, and the service life will be shortened due to accelerated aging. Therefore, the battery should be fully discharged every 2-3 months, and the discharge time can be determined according to the capacity and load of the battery. After one full load discharge, recharge for more than 8 hours according to regulations. At present, the vast majority of large and medium-sized UI have operability such as communication with microcomputer and program control. When the corresponding software is installed on the microcomputer and connected to UI through serial / parallel port, the program can be used to communicate with UI. Generally, it has the functions of information inquiry, parameter setting, timing setting, automatic shutdown and alarm. Through the information query, we can obtain the input voltage, output voltage, load utilization rate, battery capacity utilization rate, internal temperature and mains frequency information; through parameter setting, we can set UI basic characteristics, battery maintenance time and battery run out alarm, etc. Through these intelligent operations, the use and management of UI power supply and its battery are greatly facilitated. At present, the number of batteries equipped with large and medium UI power supply ranges from 3 to 80, or even more. These individual batteries are connected by circuit to form a battery pack to meet the needs of UI DC power supply. In the continuous operation and use of UI, due to the differences in performance and quality, it is inevitable that the performance of individual batteries will decline and the storage capacity can not meet the requirements. When one or more batteries in the battery pack are damaged, maintenance personnel should check and test each battery to eliminate the damaged battery. When replacing new batteries, we should try our best to buy batteries of the same model from the same manufacturer. It is forbidden to mix acid proof batteries, sealed batteries and batteries of different specifications.
